Our story
Bourgault Performance Horses is a breeding, training, showing, sales, and lesson program located on the beautiful Central Coast of California in the heart of wine country in Paso Robles. Owned by Teresa and Nathanael Bourgault, we currently operate out of Jobs Never Dun ranch. Teresa and Nathanael met during college at Cal Poly in the Cal Poly Performance Horse Program and Quarter Horse Enterprise. They’re relationship started rooted in Colt Starting and is now the foundation for their business. Teresa trains and manages the breeding program while Nathanael maintains his Non Pro status and does the heavy lifting of keeping a horse operation running! We focus on producing and showing ranch, reining, cowhorse and barrel horse Appaloosas, Quarter Horses, and Paints.
Teresa’s career training horses took root in the Learn By Doing environment of Cal Poly where she trained and rode the High Seller’s in the Cal Poly Performance Horse Sale from 2018-2021. Her love for the well-bred prospect and appreciation for those that out perform their pedigree began at Cal Poly where she was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to ride and start a variety of colts. Despite the busy life of a college student she continued pursuing showing in the ranch, reining, and cowhorse. Since beginning our business training and breeding in Paso Robles CA Teresa has accumulated over 32 World and National Championships.
